Tox Treatment Guide
What are the benefits of Tox Treatments?
"Tox" which is commonly referred to as "Botox", is a neurotoxin used most often in aesthetics for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. Outside of aesthetic use, Tox can also help with issues like migraines, teeth grinding, jaw clenching, and excessive sweating.
For optimal results, Tox treatment should take place every 3 to 4 months.

Tox FAQ For You
BOTOX is the brand name you have probably heard of, while Xeomin is a newer and cleaner neuromodulator. Xeomin's formula is more pure, as the unnecessary proteins have been removed from it. This means you are less likely to build up resistance over time. Xeomin is also beneficial when Pinch Providers come to your home, as new vials do not require refrigeration.
Tox will relax muscles on your face, preventing and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. We want you to look as natural as you want to look. Your provider will consult you on your desired outcome and treatment areas before treating you. Unlike some retail med spas, we don't aim for a "frozen" look unless a client specifically requests it.
Some clients start to notice the effects of within a few days and for other results might take up to two weeks. The full results are typically visible by the end of the second week after the injections. Peak effectiveness is usually reached around 2 to 4 weeks after the treatment.
For most clients, Tox injections last 3 to 4 months but timing may vary by client and dosage.
A common myth is that once you start Tox you can't stop. In reality, you can stop Tox anytime. Once you stop Tox treatments, the effects will slowly wear off, and muscle activity will return to normal prior to treatment.
At Pinch, we believe in upfront, fair, transparent pricing before you book. Our standard rate is $12 per unit. The number of units will depend on your treatment goals and can be discussed with your Pinch Provider.
Tox and facialfiller are both popular anti-aging cosmentic treatments, but they work differently and serve different purposes. Tox relaxes muscles, which prevents, reduces, or eliminates wrinkles within a few days to two weeks and generally lasts around three or more months. Dermal Fillers "fill" the skin to add and restore lost volume. They take effect almost immediately and can last six to twelve months.
Most clients new to med spa treatments start with Tox, but consult with your Pinch Provider on which treatment is right for you.
At Pinch, we use "Xeomin" as our Tox of choice. Like Botox, Xeomin is a neuromodulator whose main ingredient is botulinum toxin type A. They both relax your facial muscles to prevent and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Xeomin's formula is more pure, removing unnecessary proteins, which means you are less likely to build up resistance over time. Xeomin is also beneficial when Pinch Providers are coming to your home because new viles do not require refrigeration.
When you book your appointment, select all of the treatment types you are considering . Then in the "Tell us about your treatment goals" section, make a note for your provider that you are unsure which treatments you need and would like to receive a pre-appointment consultation.
Our providers are happy to set up a video call and message with you before your appointment to make sure they get to know you and your treatment goals prior to the appointment.
The anatomy of your facial muscles plays a crucial role in determining the amount of Tox you need. Your provider will assess your facial composition and the strength of your various facial muscles to determine the right dosage for you.
For example, stronger muscles like those in the forehead might require more units compared to smaller muscles found around the corners of the eyes (crow's feet) or on your nose (bunny lines).
Remember, each treatment is personalized for you and you only!
Your skin can be sensitive for 12 hours after receiving a Tox treatment. Therefore, it is best to avoid anything that might promote inflammation or additional irritation.
As always, discuss your aftercare questions with your provider at the time of your appointment for specific product-related questions.
This is a very common question that varies for each individual! Ultimately, it is completely up to you when you decide to start getting Tox.
"Preventative Botox" refers to the concept of preventing the creation of wrinkles and deep lines by relaxing the muscles with botulinum toxin injections.
Think about it this way: It’s way easier not to crumple the paper than it is to get it perfectly flat after it’s already been crumpled.
The term "Baby Botox" refers to using a smaller dosage of a specific neuromodulator such as Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, etc. during the injection. Many patients prefer this method as it allows for subtle changes to their appearance. Ultimately, your provider will review your treatment goals and administer the right dosage of the Tox to achieve those goals.
